| who and how are challenges made? |

Members make suggestions in the forums, the SC gathers them in a thread (and sometimes try to fix them up), then the admins pick from the pool of "approved" topics which ones to post each week.
With very rare exceptions, no one except the admins knows in advance of posting what the next topic will be. |

the quick answer is that we (the site admins and council) take suggestions that are accompanied by clear description from anyone who cares to make a challenge suggestion and put them in a list. The admins approve them and they and they alone choose what challenge comes up next.

| Anybody can suggest a challenge topic (ideally with a well-articulated description). Site Council members edit the text if necessary and add the topics to a database. The site Admins (usually Langdon, I assume) approve the topics and pick one for the next challenge. |
