Take the bundle of equipment and auction it off - take the money and start a DPC Deserving Membership Scholarship and pay for memberships (1 year only) to those that look like they'd use it well.
Like StAugust, I too had a 'relationship' with my 300D. My 30D is nice, but i've not gotten that relationship thing going yet.

My new 30D is sitting next to the 300D on the counter at home. I wonder if the 300D feels snubbed. I've not yet decided if I'll part with it or not, as I really do rather like the thing. That said, I'm quite impressed with the 30D so far. Maybe I'll keep both. If not, I'll probably give the 300D body to my sis-in-law, with the complete understanding that she'll be better with it than I was. |

I would love to have the camera to donate to my local high school yearbook staff. They are shooting photos for their yearbook with a couple old canon point and shoot 35mm cameras. They do have two canon digital elph cameras that don't perform much better than the 35mm cameras they have.

Wow! Thanks for the responses so far. It's been a crazy day at work thus far so I haven't had time to read through everything. I'll weed through everything later tonight or tomorrow.
I've been fortunate and had a good year. The 300D was sitting in a drawer unused since Christmas. I figured I could Ebay it and get a little $$$ out of it, but I thought it would be a lot more fun to do this.
Thanks those of you that threw some items in with this. PM me your email address and I'll forward the PMs I get to you so we can make a decision.

I have a cokin star filter that I don't use anymore. I think its an 8 point? I can throw that in to the mix? |

Very generous, I don't envy the decision you have to make though ;) |

Can I nominate a non-DPCer?
My sister lives in Nepal, and I never get to see her pictures. She doesn't take that many either because she is on a very limited budged and film is expensive in Nepali terms. She makes about $4000 a year.
I would love for our families next care package to include this, and I would love to see the amazing sights of Kathmandu through by baby sister eyes. If she had a digital camera, then I could get her to join DPC, and we can make a newbie instead of greeting one ;-)
edit - Oh, she currently has a lens from her current RebelG, but I'm sure anything extra would be appreciated.

Give it to Sher because she totally rocks as a photographer but can't afford a DSLR yet. I know a lot of people would back me on this.

Did you know your camera is my favorite Point & Shoot camera? I love the LCD screen on it, great for candids!
If I had one to give this would be the person... |
