Since giving and receiving comments is difficult. Seems like comments are not made until someone solicits for them. Most people are afraid to be the first to comment.

There's a lot of talented photographers on this site. Most pictures are not even seen unless they are entered in the challenges. Even in the challenges , pictures are sometimes overlooked. Sometimes they just go into their portfolio and never seen by anybody else.

I think reading other photographers comments can also help when learning. Sometimes they would have done a shot in a way that I would never have thought of.

Everyday (if time permits) I will spotlight a different picture and hope that you would leave comments on the photographers' site.If anyone agrees please click and leave your comments.

I posted this picture up before by nataliedoo. I think this is such a strong piece I'm going to post it again.

Excellent choice! I actually stumbled across this photo yesterday and not only added it to my favorites but used it as an example on one of my photography 'assignments' as an example of what I thought to be a good use of lighting. I also think it's a good example of composition.

Very nice photo!

This is one reason we need a 'recently added portfolio photos' option under the photos/browse menu. Most of those photos do go unnoticed..

I just realized that by posting comments to the picture it did not help to update this thread. I believe that the POD idea is really good but it needs a way for people to know it's there after this thread is gone. Maybe a button on the home page.

Also on the subject of comments....I think that there would be more comments if there were more people on broadband internet connections. I'm stuck on dial up for financial reasons and it SUCKS. I have not been able to finnish voting on the last two challenges that have been completed because I don't have the time resources. I would be curious to find out how many people who comment regularly on other pics are on dial up versus broadband...

I know I most definatly would go through more of the galleries if it was practicle for me to do so.

Just my thoughts

Usually what I do after making a comment on the picture, I go back to the thread and type "Comments made" . This bumps the thread back to the top.

I use dsl and I try to make at least 100 comments a week. I've been regularly coming to the site since beginning of August and I've made over 400 comments.

You could cut and paste this threads url and put it in a comment with the desired picture. Then it would have a link to this thread with the picture, and vice versa.

Edit: DONE

Hi thanks for choosing my picture! This is so cool! If you want to see my previous try with this shot go to
//www.photosig.com/go/users/viewportfolio?id=80068. It was originally shot in b/w and the only work consisted in changing a white washed out sky which gave that surreal feel to the image. Thanks for commenting.

I'm so excited! ;o)
