Copy your stats, save them to a text file, and go to data/import external data/import data on the menu (or whatever it is for openOffice) and just go through the wizard with the defaults. Works like a charm.

oops, wait. no, that doesn't work quite as well as I thought. Calculations are correct, but theres all those spaces....

For some reason Excel is seeing the tabs as spaces. Even when I try to format the text to be tab delimited, it still doesn't see it.

If I go through the file and insert a pipeline ( | ) between all the fields I can then set the delimiter to pipeline and it works. But that would take too long.

Anyone know how to get Excel to see the tabs as tabs? I've tried paste and paste special.

I think it might have something to do with textPad chaning the tabs to spaces.

Okay saving to a text file, deleting the extra tab after the picture title, and then running the import seems to work best. I'm trying to figure a way to get around the tab delete in the import wizard.

I don't have Microsoft Office, I have OpenOffice.org 2.0 -- maybe that's why.

If you wanna do it, that'd be cool. Otherwise, I'm going to enter my data manually later lol. If not, I don't blame you. If you do though, dbpaull[at]comcast[dot]net

I am having the same problem. I remove the tab between the title and the challenge name, copy and paste it into the Excel sheet. The first cell in each row has all the data for the row, not spliting it up into the comlumns.

I am using Text Pad and Excel

Edit to add screen shot

i tried with your data and i works fine, i'm not an excel expert but i think it has something to do with excel settings, sorry ...

if i find some time i'll do it for you and deapee :-)

Can you send me the excel sheet with my data?

david@scarbrough.cc

Thanks in advance!

Nevermind - I added the tabs manually and the spreadsheet looks good. Must be an Excel version thing.

Thanks for the spreadsheet!!!

oh well I give up. There are literally 40 icons and about 200 menus and I'll be damned if I can find one that says Import or Import from text file or anything along those lines. I'll just do it manually.

ok... so after seeing this and so many people had trouble using it i decided to try to make something easier to use.

Try This

just go to your profile page, view the source, copy all of it and paste it in the box

Pretty cool! Worked like a champ!

But it would be nice to have the data in a excel sheet.

You so rock!

If you were in Houston I'd ask for a resume!

Let me know if you want me to test again!

Will this stay where it is? I want to bookmark it.

I get a bunch of errors line 56, 57, 58, and 59. Oh well, I'm sure it's a cool little website program. I'm really going to learn how to enter it manually and just do it from there.

even better!

One suggestion. The cart that is generated, the "scores" scale would be better in whole numbers.

3, 4, 6, 8 . . . . The cart I get has 1.6, 3.2, 4.8, 6.4, 8.

Ocassionally, someone does score higher than 8, not me of course.

it generates those on it's own based on the scores you've gotten... it'll never go outside of the chart
