....one of my cf cards works (takes images) but then i load them into my computer but then when i put it back into my camera to reuse it says "no image" but if i try to take a photo, it also says "full cf card". then if i put it back in my computer and look at the files on the card the images are still there. i think it gave me this problem before, and i said "oh well" and formated the card and used it and now that it's full again and i am going to use it again it's giving me that full card and no image thing. should i be worried about using it????

i also sometimes have trouble loading the images with my card reader (not sure if this has been a problem on this specific card or not), it sometimes gives me the message "the device has been improperly removed..." when i didn't remove it, like it looses connection or something.

Powered through a adapter reader or usb powered? Sometimes the usb doesn't provide enough power and the device hangs.

I've seen this before, and it may be a case of not properly 'closing' the hardware interupts on the card prior to disconnecting it from your computer. Essentially, BEFORE you pull the card out of your reader... open the "unplug or eject hardware" icon from your toolbar - and STOP the generic volume for your CF card. This allows Windows to properly close the file allocation table on your card.

Give it a try - it's worth a shot.

thanks. that sounds like what is happening, except it happens all on it's own (the card reader closes/disconnects) without my actually pulling the reader from the computuer. if it doesn't shut down on me automatically i do always "eject" the card reader before doing this. i guess for starters i need a new card reader.

would this have ruined the card for good? or should i keep using the card and just get a new reader?

The cared should still be okay. Re-format it in the camera and it'll probably work then. But yeah, sounds like a new card reader is in order. Good news is, they're pretty cheap.
