what do poeple think are the highest quality third party lenses that will work for a canon xt. I need value vs. quality here. Should I save up for the Canon IS lenses I really want. (I am not close to affording L) or are there decent 3rd party lenses that can give me the same results.
I'm looking for a wide angle, standard and telephoto (around 300 mm) and really can't go over 400 per lens. thanks

I was going to suggest some of the Sigma Ex series lenses but those are mostly over $400. Rather than double investing I think saving for the lens you want is prudent.
