I knkow my husband, Nelzie, was upset he wasn't able to make it. He's been a walking zombie (when I've actually seen him) this past week, with no let up in sight. Glad those who made it had a good time, and maybe he (and I) can make the next Michigan one. |

Sorry to grab this thread but couldn't resist since it was about Michigan. Would have been fun joining you on this outing, sounds like you had a nice time..
Anyway, I will be visiting Michigan with the family this week for a few days, been looking on the net for places of interest but not found many that caught my attention.
Plan is to hire a car and just drive from Detroit towards Canada, probably cross into Canada but would love to hear any recommendations for nice places (photogenic ofcourse) to visit on the way..we will have 4 full days for this trip.
Any suggestions? |

Well, between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, Canada is only a river, so not much to see there. :) If you go from Detroit to Port Huron to Sarnia Ontario, there isn't much but pig farms on the way.
For places around the Detroit area, I would suggest the Henry Ford Museum and/or Greenfield Village. It is a must stop for anyone coming to Detroit (the largest attraction in the Metro area). You need 2 days to do both venues the correct way, but can do it in one if you are quick about it. (I worked there 6 years ago). |

Thank you LoriB30. Both my daughter and husband have been to the Greenfield Village and funny you should mention you used to work there because a family friend took them there and he used to work there as well. The Henry Ford museum sounds good.. |

The Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak is another good place to go ... the Arctic Ring of Life has an amazing Polar Bear exhibit ... look at my profile for examples of how close you can get to them! |
