Hey all!

Just got into digital photography, and am looking to buy a camera. I don't have much money, so I'm looking for suggestions on what's good and what is good value. Remember though this will start me down my digital photography pathway, so answer very wisely.

Can anyone help me? Thanks if you can.

The Pentax you have seems to be a pretty good starter camera for newbies. My camera is very basic so it is more of a challenge for me to get a good shot without using a lot of lenses and filters.

Thanks for that. Isn't it more interesting when you don't have all the filters etc. but you can still achieve the results?

I'd suggest the canon powershot series. They're relatively inexpensive, and have almost all the manual controls available. I have one of the S series cameras, and really like it. (Even though I wouldn't mind having one of the G series).

Yeah nice one. They look a bit special also.

I have started with a camera with 10 X optical zoom... will I be disappointed if I go for a camera with more pixels and less optical zoom?

I wish I had the money to get a better camera. Maybe when I get a job I can afford one!
