(Warning... Personal Opinion only)

Action shots GOOD
Zen shots BAD
Bits and Pieces UGLY

("Zen" has nice shots though. I am not sure if related at all, but nice.)

"Action" shots includes "motion blur", "stop motion", "sport" challenges in one and very EXCELLENT shots there.

"Bits and Pieces"... The worse challenge I ever seen so far.

IMHO...

I've voted on some of Action so far, and it was nice to see good takes on familiar themes as well as some unusual ideas. Haven't voted for any of the other two... maybe I should stay away!

precisely why I didn't bother entering Zen or Bits...I've been described as bad, as ugly, and as bad and ugly enough times in my life already :)

I have to admit that I often used the titles in the Bits & Pieces challenge to see what bits or pieces they were trying to convey. Then I judged them on how well they executed their plan. Please note: there are some really excellent entries in the Bits & Pieces challenge that deserve your support. Vote early and vote often ;-)

I am insulted. Many people put much time and effort into these photos. You shouldn't critisize other peoples effort. Constructive critizism is fine but this is far from it. You must relize that everyone on this website isnt fonominal, and you critisizing isnt making anything better. Next time you post such a thing i suggest you have a back up, do to the fact you have yet to enter ANY of these catagories. If you couldve acctually THOUGHT of something and taken a picture to post, then you could have every right to critisize. But since you did not even enter one, I think you sir, are an impolite jerk. If this wasnt a good website for all ages i would say things that would drop your jaw. So please shut up, and acctually think before you say something.

I have voted all. I haven't give bad votes because I didn't like a challenge. I tried to do my best, and judged the photos as they are.

I am not actually saying "Don't vote" or anything. I am just making statement, and giving my opinion... I also would like to know if I am the only one and if they are the way I put it here.

:/

Well taking. I respect your thoughts.

I do have photos in "Bits and Pieces" and in "Zen" challenges.

There are good ones, I admit... I am not sure if they are zen though.

The movie was "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" I wish it would be "The Good, The so-so and the Ugly"

LOL

I tried to express my thoughts. I spend more than hour voting all, and honestly some of them was pretty painful... I vote all the challenges, this time I had hard time :/

Nothing Inspires me more than photos I have seen in DPC. I am not jealous at all :)

My broha they are all ZEN.

To judge or not judge is not ZEN
To observe what is, that is ZEN

Glad I stayed away from that Zen challenge... something tells me it would have been an appropriate place for Karma to bite me in the ass...

Not karmat :-)

As I said... I am not sure... I voted the photos as is. I think what I mean is, I didn't use my judgment if they are within the challenge subject or not, but only the shots and quality... That shouldn't hurt anyone. I think many people here use the same style of judgment if don't understand the challenge :P

I must tell you though... The "Action" shots... they are beyond amazing... I want to go and vote again LOL... no really, I want to go and check those photos again. I probably copy some of them to my hard drive :P

I don't know how did those people shoot those photos, waaaaay ahead of my time :)

Good job :)

I have to agree that Bits and Pieces is the worst challenge entries overall, I've ever seen on DPC. I have given 1's and 2's and I NEVER do that. There were a couple of decent ones, but the overall entries were blurred, bad, uninteresting and about as imaginative and artfully done as throwing out the trash!!! I felt that Action was somewhat better. I enjoyed voting on Zen, although my interpretation might have been different than others'.

I cannot wait for Free Study. Ground Up might be fun too, but I anticipate LOTS OF FLOWERS. ROFL

I'm not going to say whether the images in bits and pieces are ugly because that's in the eye of the beholder but lets just say come turnover I don't expect to see the three ribbon winners convey let alone include "bits and pieces". I'll leave it at that. :)

I have to agree also that bits and pieces is one really bad looking challenge (including my own submission wich isnt very good.. but hey! I am almost new and mediocre...) I guess all the good photographers went for the action challenge... But to defend a little, I saw 2 or 3 really nice pictures at Bits and pieces...(guess those are the ones that will ribbon)

OK I acquiesce. My entry was very last minute and is completely contrived. But I submit that mine is the best of the worst and to win that subset of the challenge, I will have my victory!

ROFLMFAO

I must not be a good photographer, then.
