Best Movie Trilogy of All-Time ???

This is a random topic to discuss and argue about that is a little lighter than others currently going on. I am not distracting, but while we are all in the mood, why not argue about something else too?

I want you to name your favorite movie trilogy of All-Time.

And that doesn't include the Lord of the Rings, which is obviously the best movie and trilogy ever filmed.

I will start with

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Ark, Temple of Doom, and The Last Crusade

Lord of the Rings (duh as you already stated)
Star Wars (original three episodes IV V VI)
uhh, can I put some Miyazaki films in a trilogy?

ETA: Indian Jones is up there, but I've never been a fan of Temple of Doom. Love Raiders and Last Crusade though

Funny, crayon, I actually thought the second one was the coolest. Except the first time I saw Matrix (original) in high school. I walked out of the theater with my socks knocked off. Remember, up until that time, there was nuthin' ever made like that. Crazy crazy.

Personally, I think 2 and 3 (of teh Matrix) were now that great, especially compared to the first one.

Star wars doesn't count as a trilogy, even though the original three were so distant from the later ones.

that was a cool movie, and i liked the lead actor too. He has been in other stuff, but that was his movie. but matrix was on a whole new level, especially the dodging-bullets-lean-back-thing

Simply because the new movies are so horrible.

And this coming from a true Star Wars fan that owns all 6 movies.

I prefer to think of them as seperate trilogies.

Beyond Star Wars though.. the absolute best solid Trilogy ever? Back to the Future.

I dunno, just a personal taste. I felt that the 1st was the BEST, 3rd was good. But the 2nd one, the story don't hold as much depth. But then again this is probably because I compared the 2nd one with the 1st, which was amazing.

I know they had like 74 sequels - but at one point there were three and they were great.

i looked at matrix II, as what most 2nd movies are in trilogies, a transitional piece. So really it was pure action and setup for 3rd installment. Especially since they filmed them together..
