I'm jealous of you ppl. I'm going to end up at an engineering college dealing with crappy physics. I hate physics but my parents are only willing to support me for college if I do a 'proper degree'. And I was the idiot who decided to sign up for the hardest courses there ever were. Apparently I was going through my self destructive days.
I wanted to get into archaeology but that degree doesn't even exist in my country. Wahhhh... I'm probably the only the person on the planet who got upset when my acceptance letter came. Poor me. |

I love photography, but don't think I could turn it into a profession... If I had to do it as a job, and it had to be done to other people's specifications, it would definitely lose its fun for me. I would rather work a job I am good at and is neccessary and just go shooting on the weekends for my own personal enjoyment. |
Bill I've PM'd you

Filmography. It excites me more, although the two are very related. I am persuing cinematography and film direction. |

Knowing me I'll probably do something in computers, whether it's graphics or programming or whatever. But I really haven't decided yet, which is bad when everyone else I know, has a clear idea of what they want to do.
I was considering Full Sail and the degrees they hold (degrees in Computer Animation, Digital Arts and Design, Entertainment Business, Film, Game Development, Recording Arts, Show Production and Touring) which from looking at it, is like my dream college (more Digital Arts and Design or Computer Animation), only problem is you have to pay upfront, and they say it's like bootcamp, because you take lots of classes in a short period of time. I'll probably still go for a college visit just because the campus, facilities, and equipment looks amazing, I just don't think I'll actually get in haha.
Right now, I'm just bouncing from idea to idea, trying to settle on something I can live with. It just so hard figuring it out. And my college future, depends on whether I get a scholarships or not, which is more my main concern, cause my parents arn't going to pay for my college, unless it's just the community college, which I don't want to be stuck at.
Photography... definately not something I'll consider, only because there are people so much more talented than me, and I'd rather do it for fun than anything else. |

I'm starting back to school next Monday for a different type of photography.... Radiography :)
I haven't been in school in a long time. I'm gonna have to learn how to study again.

For photography, college may seem like a waste of time, especially if you are already advanced. It will, however, give you time (that you will NEVER have again) to focus your work, develop an outstanding portflio and make contacts that will be valuable for your entire career. I'll probably sound like a school counselor or a parent, but a college degree from a is about a lot more than just your major.
You will see, experience and learn so much from classes outside your field of study and from your experiences being on your own. The degree that you receive can be your entry to many other fields aside from photography should you decide that photography is not your cup of tea.

Me too. I got my first bachelors in 1997, though I never really learned to study the first time around either. This should be an interesting study of whether or not I've really grown up in these past nine years as much as I think I have.

Cousin Joey's in the filmographism field, pally. I'm thinking I might follow in his footsteps. That way, when someone else tries to follow those same footsteps, they will have to follow mine as well, and I can accuse them of ripping off my je ne sais quoi. |

It made a difference for me when I went back. I didn't take classes for 13 years and then went back for 10 classes to get a certificate. It was hard work but I was much more serious than the first time.
It really didn't take too long to get back into the studying mode. But when did the college kids get so young?? |
