I've never stayed in Bristol other than in grotty student accommodation, but a quick Google brings up this place which looks cheap, cheerful, and central too.

Renamed the thread to update people with the preliminary date. Is everyone ok with the 14th?

I'm deffinately interested in coming along, though won't be able to say until closer to the time - Saturdays are generally good for me though.
Have marked it on my calendar as a reminder! |

As I said previously, I get back from Egypt late on Friday via Heathrow. So, not too sure how I'll be feeling. Or, whether I'll be allowed out quite so quickly on my own! :)
Still, if I can get along, even for part, I'll try.

when you say Clifton are you thinking Park Street, or Clifton Village itself? |

Well, walking up Park Street and turning left, goingg past the museum, the fancy building with the statues, etc, then on into Clifton to the Royal York Crescent and the Bridge.

Sounds like this could be a plan. I'm not going to be doing much walking but a chance for some lunch and to put some faces to names will be good.

There's a big multistorey car park on Trenchard Street, which is right in the city center which always has spaces.
As far as times and meeting places go, I'll propose a couple now, people can say what they think, or add alternatives.
I reckon mid-day would give people plenty of time to get into Bristol in the morning and get parked etc. It also allows for time for everyone to meet up and get to know each other a little before lunch. If we met in College Green (Next to city centre) we have things to photograph while we wait for people to arrive, such as the Cathedral, Park Street, and other old buildings like the library and stuff. It's a nice big open space and good to meet up in I rekcon. We coule stay there till 1ish incase people are running late or whatever, and then perhaps have lunch somewhere about 1. There are plenty of places to eat in the centre, so what kinda thing do people fancy? There's Bella Italia, few Mexican places, few Pizza places, Nandos, and more.

College Green at midday sounds a good idea to meet.
When it comes to grub I'm easy, as long as we can find a good watering hall later in the afternoon, (for medicinal purposes only). |

Bump! Sorry I've not been around the last 2 weeks, I've moved into a new house and didn't have internet. I'll probably be PMing everyone who has shown interest with a link to the thread now there are more details, and also to try and confirm numbers.

To re bump
College Green at 12.00 would be a good time, allowing those travelling from farther a field to get there.
Part of the fun of a get together is to sit down with some food a quick drink.
As far as what type of food, well, I am easy, but will put a vote in for Mexican, as I don't get to eat that very oftenâ€Â¦

£50 should cover food easily, I expect it will probably cost about £10 each, but I can't say for sure since people will probably be buying different things, wherever we go. I agree with Artan in that Mexican sounds good!
There are a few people from London who have shown an interest in coming, so you may be able to get a lift. I hope we see you there! I sent out PMs yesterday, so waiting on replies now to get an idea of numbers who are still interested.

I do not need to buy extra bits as long as I can meet some guys from here and have a good time shooting and get dinner and have a bed for the night then I will be soooo happy.
IF there is a nice kind soul heading up from these parts that dont mind sharing the journey with a nikon user then Im your man.

Just seen this thread and if I can work out travel I'd love to meet up with a few DPC'ers.
I'm in Leeds but can travel down to London early if there are others going from there?? If not its a long train journey alone!
