| Does anyone in the uk use a specialist photographic insurance company, or do you add it onto your household policy? COuld anyone give me some names of reliable companies? |

I use these guys - not super cheap, but cheaper than losing my kit uninsured...

If your camera is worth less than a few hundred, you may already be covered under your household insurance.

I have my kit on my contents insurance with extra clauses for away from home and items over £1k are itemised.

I've used photoguard in the past without any problems, but we (myself &  chiqui) are now using aaduki instead, since their rates are very competitive. You should also look into E&L, who also seem to be quite popular.

Thanks. Will probably go with photoguard.
It's for my new D50 btw, haven't suddenly decided that my £100 camera requires insurance after having dropped it in a lake. |

For what it's worth, I think Aaduki only insures equipment in combination with professinal indemnity insurance and public liability. I could be wrong though.

Just to let you know Aaduki can provide insurance cover for equipment only and there is no requirement to also take out any other insurance covers. In addition Aaduki can provide cover on any insurance without the need to take out equipment cover. Totally flexible!
