Here are some of my outtakes of Arum Rae. It was my first "real" photo shoot with a model and was a blast!

Had this one entered
Pulled it for this one
I was hoping people would think the sea shot was really taken from the sea and not at the SeaWorld aquarium.
Right choice?

I think you made the right choice. While the orangutang (yes, I know I murdered the spelling) is cute, I think your IR photo had more Wow factor and was overall technically better. |

The orangatan looks a bit over sharpened but I like it better. I gave a 5 on the IR, would have been 7 on the orangatan. IR is getting a bit worn to me, but it is obvioulsy still popular with the voters. 6.5 is good score.

My comments were really split on my use of selective colour - from love it to hate it and back again - so here is the shot in mono for comparison

For a whole month, there are hundreds of outtakes to choose from. For a night out at a fireworks displays, there are ... yep, hundreds of outtakes to choose from ;>þ
Here are some:
Here's the original of my entry, just resized. Did I do all that much post-processing? Not really.

I liked the one you entered and gave it a 7 but I would have given the original an 8 or 9. Great image with a story to it.

First I wanted to add this,
Then i shoot the little girl and first add this,
Finally I decided for this one.
I think she is more expressive in the one I entered than the outtake. Wonder if the umbrella lady would have done better, here on DPC where we all know color does better than b&w usualy. |

ENTRY
A Boy And His Castle
Been waiting a month to show off the other lucky take that is similiar to the one I entered - of course I would have done a closer crop for the challenge entry.

My entry:
was a crop of this:
This was the only entry I considered for the challenge. I think better post processing would have helped it reach a 6 (you think?). If anybody wants to have a stab at processing it differently, please, be my guest!
