Having the jacket in the image looks fine.
Just to make sure we are on the same wavelength, your Autofocus? got his jacket in focus not his body.

here are some I took in NYC, comments, criticisms etc more than welcome
some great work in this thread, and based on some of the previous posts, I would say these are more 'street portraiture' than pure 'street'...but Im more into people

My favorite type of photography!! And San Francisco is one of the best places to do it!

A lot of good stuff in this thread. The more I do this, the shorter focal lengths I'm using. These days I'm trying to work more with a 50mm. There's an intimacy and immediacy that long telephoto candids never have. They feel vouyeristic and lack a sense of compassion that I just can't enjoy in the main. It's harder to work closer to the subject but I think often a whole lot more rewarding. Here's a few of mine:
Well, a photograph of a street. Does that count as street photography ?
Visual puns, hard to do, or hard to do well, anyway.
La Kiva. So much going on in the bar clutter, but seems to hang together.
Kenny, Terlingua. Tall tales and too much drinking.
Montalchino
Siena - Damn she was beautiful. I always wondered if they were related, or just having a relationship...
Siena.

Nice thread! I love street photography. Unfortunately I don't have enough guts for it (yet). These are some I've taken this summer:
All taken in The Hague ( Holland ).

Is this the one you wanted? You can quote my reply to see the correct code to insert images hosted on the site. There's also a handy button in the Post Reply window, just under your Logged In As name. Just hover your mouse over each button to see what it does.... :)

Taken in Anyang, South Korea using my 70-300... an excessively slow lens at 300mm. These guys come out in the early morning and late at night to collect the rubbish here. I've been wanting to photograph them for a while now, they have a load of emotion in their faces and I would imagine quite some stories to tell.
I used PS to make a few adjustments, selective blurring (lens blur), curves, levels etc. Then I ran the Draganizer action over it (first time using that action).

love street photography, just don't do it often enough: it takes a bit of time and abandon which I can rarely afford. Anyway, here is my all-time favorite street shot
(tango performers are pretty common on streets of Buenos-Aires of course, but what was interesting about this pair, it was obvious that they were completely "out of it", at least at that very moment)
...and a few recent street photos

There is an interesting street photo contest going on right now, anyone can enter. first prize is a camera and equip. value $1100. The organizers seem to be mainly into film but digital is allowed.

I quickly looked through my workshop to see what might qualify in addition to the posts I submitted when this thread was first started.
