This site has some very cool super wide angle shots. I would really like to know how they get the 360 degree view. Is this a lens trick or a Photoshop trick?

that's stinkin awesome. no real concrete idea how it's done. Maybe 2 180 fisheyes stitched together?

Wow, no idea how they do that! Reminds me of Spore though :)

in a nu,mber of them you can see shadows that are not associated with anything -- and a fair amount of cloning in others -- ut i can't find stich marks ...

Its done in photoshop with a 360* panoramic shot that you have to stich before hand then use the "polar coodinate" filter in photoshop to do it.

Wow, that is very eye-catching...and mindbending!

Hmmm, I wonder if you can get that effect by using a fish eye lens that is focusing on a scene refelected in a crystal/clear glass sphere (anyone want to try this?). Photoshop/Paintshop may be utilized to 'clean' up the image as a whole.

That's awesome, I wish I knew how they did it as well..

Dang that is cool...notice a shadow of a man and tripod in some of the shots.

How is that done??

He was on top of one of the sky scrapers.
One of the most ovious ways to tell that he used polar coordinates is in the sky scraper one on the outer edges it streaks the sky, thats what happens when you use the filter

I think Emenresu is right, there are obvious signed of the PS polar coordinated effect around some of the images if you're looking for them :)

I belive that if a 360 lens was used you would either have the photographers body in the shot or you wouldnt have the photographers shadow.

By the way i have done shots like these before but i cant find mine right at this moment.
