Dude, that's freakin' awesome. I don't know how I feel about the practice in theory (I mean, it's far from capturing the scene you originally saw), but the end result is nice. I'd be interested in seeing a tutorial written up on something like that...

Thanks mate. I may find time for a tutorial during half term, i'm far to busy working full time and studying full time at the moment. |

Another tip that can help....When you do the duplicate layer with multiply or whatever blending mode, you can also adjust the blending range. This way, you can limit the effect to not include the darker areas. This combined with a mask / erase / opacity adjustment can really help clean things up. |
