I've removed my post! even though It couldn't possibly affect voting, as the entry is DQ anyway! Don't want to cause any more trouble!

do you think we ought to remove all these posts, in case the site ops kill us both? I'd hate for you to suffer for fraternising with the unclean. |

thanks Sue, I have emailed them. I think it's because it looks like I cloned out a deckchair and some other minor chaff in the background, when in reality I used levels to white it out - which seems to be allowed under advanced editing. we'll see! |

removing what most people would consider a major element is not allowed no matter how you do it unless it was cropped out. so if a person looked at you photo and said it was a picture of such and such and a deckchair then it is a major element. SC will let your know more about your specific entry. |

Thanks Elvis. I guess it's all down to your own interpretation of 'major' element. I'll be a bit more picky next time! I admit, I am not really used to restrictions in photoshop out in the real world! It's a shame when personal judgements can come into it - maybe there should be something cooncrete to follow, like you can remove a background object if it's less than 5% of the picture or something? I've seen images in DPC advanced editing challenges that have had all the trees in a sky cloned out as they upset symmetry, for example. I'm quite happy to follow the rules if they are crystal clear! |
