I've been searching and searching and can't find-
What software can you get that allows you to hook your camera (in my case a 20d) right up to your PC (laptop) and as you take pictures you can view them right away on your PC? I don't mean downloading it from the camera - I mean I take a picture and it pops up full screen right away...not just a little thumbnail.
Sorry if this is a stupid question. I've seen this done just haven't found the software. Thanks in advance!
This is useful during a studio portrait session - so you and your client can see the shots and know when you've gotten enough - because viewing them on the camera doesn't cut it.

I don't have a 20D but I do have a canon rebel xt and it came with software to do that on the CD (called EOS Capture, I think). I would imagine that the 20D would have come with something like that too. Take a look at the CD that came with the camera. |

I dont think the 20d came with that software.. I know my 300d did not.. any ways I have used this software in the past.. and still use there breese browser software.. I think its worth the money..

I would like to strike the above words from the conversation "I know my 300d did not" and replace them with "I think my 300d may not of, but I didn't really look"

really.. humm.. maybe I should look again then before I post that.. :) but I WAS pretty sure the software that came with it was mostly drivers or just correction software.. but I have een known to be wrong in the past, and probably just didn't dig in the software cause I was just so excited about the camera... :)
Cause I couldn't tell you what software came with my 5d at all, since by that point I had just about every suite available for photo editing I needed.. :) |

Yup, got it. It works well, albeit sorta slow.

Yeah the 20D comes with EOS Capture, though I think it may stop working if you install the Canon EOS utility. |

Thanks everyone. After further investigation it DID come with EOS Capture but it didn't get fully installed which is why I didn't see it before. I'll have to reinstall that. Thanks again for your help!
