All the rain thats been hammering the west coast lately is falling as snow on the ski hills! Is anyone else here as excited as I am about the beginning of winter season?

I know I'll be up at Whistler on Saturday. Photos will have to wait until I've gotten my fill of powder, however.

So, how many other snow bums frequent DPC? Where's your home mountain? Do you shoot while you ride?

Ski hills in this area opened last week (on manmade snow anyway). At least this year they're surrounded by the real stuff. Last year they were a white dot in the middle of a greenish brown patch.

Now I'm talkin' a super bunny hill. It's in the river valley in the middle of the city.

The real mountain spots don't open for a week or so yet.

<-- tired of snow, looking to be a cabana boy in a semi tropical (or tropical) region.

Have fun on the snow though - it wasn't too long ago I waited with bated breath for snow to fall :)

Skier and ski shooter, I'm in CO, my home mountain is all over the state. Took a trip to whistler last season and it was amazing, the amount of terrain up there is incredible.

Killington Vermont and Winham NY is where I find myself most of the time. Shoot with my Canon S40.

Can't wait for snow to fall.

I do lots of snow shoeing, but no skiing. I may be weird, but I get better shots in the winter than at any other time of the year.

I'm a snow shoe person too. If we ever get any real snow here I'll find me some good spots to go. So far we've only gotten a couple of inches, and that was over a week ago. The past three days we've had hurricane force winds here in the valley, today being the worst. 90 mpg gusts have been ripping through here all day.

I am with David and Linda on this one...snowshoes. I always get the "you live in CO? You ski?" NOPE!! Been skiing ONE time, not that thrilling for me. SORRY! :) Besides I can snowshoe for free...lift tickets are outrageous!!

I've lived in CO for four years and have never skied, boarded, or snowshoed. I've been snowmobiling a couple times, though.

not only is it free, it's easier to shoot while on snow shoes

I absolutely love snowboarding! Thus, my name is daboardergirl. What can I say? Utah has the greatest snow on earth!

I'd love to head south and see what riding at 10000ft is like. Looks like I'll be at Copper Mtn for christmas... the base elevation is higher than Whistler's peak!

I hope we get snow and not just rain. This is the perfect winter day to ski, but it was in March. Can't wait for snow to fly, but if things keep up the way they are, we won't see much more than 20" of rain for the winter. Not looking forward to dreary landscapes.

Been skiing since I was knee high to a duck... I dont shoot while I ski... too afraid to hurt the equipment.

I ski at Mount Shasta at the north end of California... also like to ski Mt Bachelor in Oregon. Tahoe is great too!

Hey Option...I may live to regret saying this, but I miss all that snow out west! We're having an incredible fall out east. We'll eventually get about 10' of snow in one afternoon but *sigh* Newfoundland doesn't have the hills that BC/AB do!

I can't wait for the season to open. I ski and shoot at Smugglers Notch and Jay Peak here in Vt.

love snow. hate skiing. i find it too hard to hold my cocoa while plummeting to my death off of a mountain.

i'm more of a sledding-with-kids kind of guy.

Wish I could say that, it's still pretty warm here for the time of the year and I'm really starting to long to a cold winter with lots of snow.
