That’s right, I said itâ€Â¦I said it right to your face. VOTERS, PLEASE LEAVE NEGATIVE COMMENTS!
Seriously though, I̢۪ve got a photo in voting now which has 7 comments, all of them very positive but my score is much lower than I expected and has been going down for two straight days now with no end in sight. Not one person has explained why they scored the photo low so I really don̢۪t know what I did wrong. Since I can̢۪t identify my photo during voting all I can do is encourage people to go head and give it to people with both barrels. Personally I̢۪d rather have an idea what I could do to improve and not have to guess what it is that̢۪s keeping the score low.

P.S. This is said in good humor and I̢۪m not angry that people don̢۪t agree that my photo was as good as I thought it was. I honestly would just like to see more negative comments so I can have an idea what I can do next time to improve the shot.

Maybe it just isn't very good ?
That's not to say its bad, or is badly done. Maybe the concept is just sort of blah ? So nobody has much bad to say about it, but it still doesn't score very high?

To clarify, it's not the low score that's making me scratch my head as much as it is the 7 comments...all saying the photo is great while the score goes down, down, down.
I can understand if there are so many bad photos in the lot that people don't want to take the time to comment on them all. No big deal. But 7 positive comments and not even a single, "the only thing that would be better is..." No negative comments at all,, |

I have an image in voting that was around 6.75 after 50 votes, and now (after 100 votes) has plummeted to the 6.25 range. That's very unusual in my experience, so something is happening :-) NO negative comments, par for the course. So it goes.

ETA: Sheesh, make that 6.12 after 117... Never had one plunge like this after the 50-vote level, never...

Half point doesn't count as "plummet" - not the way scores in "Death" are going - full point slides and more! |

Sure it does; after 50 votes, I don't think I've ever had an image lose more than .2 or so, this one's lost .65 already... Whimper, whine, snarl and howl in the woods, wake all the birds!

Ok if a half point slide doesn't work, how about this? At around 35 votes I had a 6.0. Right now I have a 5.37
NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS....7 "THIS PHOTO IS GREAT" comments. |

I think voters don't want to piss off people, OR they just can't think of anything to say other than "please remove from this contest." LOL
I try to be constructive and if I can't, then I don't say anything. |
