I have the above mentioned lens but am still waiting for my new canon 400d to be delivered, so i have not used the lens yet.

Need some opinions on how good the lens is with macro shots, and hopefully could someone upload some of their macro photos taken with this lens so i can get some idea of its ability.

it does a pretty good job at macros. It doesn't focus real fast so it takes some work and practice but you can get good macros out of it. I'm use to using the Canon 100mm macro so I'm spoiled though.

Impressive, although i notice you use the APO version. But if i can get as close as that with that quality, that will do for me.
I currently use a Minolta dimage G600 compact and have only dreamed of getting this close.

the APO just has an extra aspherical element

I have the Nikon version. Love it.

Some great shots there. my camera is getting delivered tomorrow and i cant wait. An early xmas present for myself
