Yesterday I won a DPC year membership by finding  Strikeslip's house at Maps @ Google.com. See this this thread.. As a result Slippy sent me a DPC year membership gift code. Thank you, thank you!
But, I just renewed my membership on the 5th of December and thus don't really need it. So I'll even add an extra one of my own.
So here is your chance! You want to renew but cannot afford it? You want a gift membership to surprise your girlfriend? You want a membership but hate creditcards and paypal? You want a gift membership to give away with an even sillier challenge?
But I will not give it away just like that!
In the spirit of the way I won it, I challenge you!
The Challenge
At Google Maps you can search for locations via satellite images all over the earth. And you can link to them.
--> When you find a location and have zoomed in to a good close view, you can hit the "Link to this page" button (above the map at the right). The browser's URL box will now show an URL to the page you are viewing and you can copy that and paste here at DPC as a link. You have to click the show URL link everytime you create a new location, else it will just link to the previous one.
Got that? Good.
I will give one DPC membership to the first one who gives me the Google Maps URL's to the locations I will mention next. To be clear: I want sattelite images. No maps, no sattelite/map combo's, just clean sattelite images zoomed in as far and accurate as you can on the requested location. Remember that when Google doesn't offer maps it can still offer sattelite images!
The first one to give me all the correct links (DPC clickable) will win the first free gift membership, doesn't matter if you are a member already or a Registered User. The first Registered User (not already a member) who gives me all the right links but a different windmill than the winner will get the second free gift membership.
I know it is possible because I have looked them all up already. :)
So, show me (random order is ok):
1) The Taj Mahal, a World Heritage site in the land of Ghandi.
2) The Eiffel Tower, a World Heritage site in the land of fermented grape juice.
3) The Statue of Liberty, a World Heritage site in a place once called "Nieuw-Amsterdam".
4) The Forbidden City, a World Heritage site in the city that will host the 2008 Olympic Games.
5) A windmill in The Netherlands, my home country.
The latter might be hard to find, but that's the challenge. Because Google Maps uses sattelite images that were shot on a sunny day with the sun at a low angle they are easy to recognize, like this:  .
Look at the shadow! One extra hint: Philos knows where to find them!

Man! I searched and searched for that windmill!
_and then my husband came home and I jumped up to fix his dinner and totally forgot about this and then I just now came in here and see congrats are order!!
But I just couldn't let me work go unnoticed...ha
