Do I need to type in any custom settings to use AIS lenses on my D200? Thinking of getting myself the Nikon 28mm 2.8 ais lens, and reverse it on my D200 to get ~2:1 ratio. Will that work?

Yes AIS lenses will work seamlessly with your D200 and it will even meter with them. Plus, you can also log the lens in the D200 and it will then record metadata with the AIS lens.

As for the other part of you question, I have no experience in that part, so I'm not sure.
