Any big surprises out there? Did your favorite fail to make the top 10, top 20? Show us your "underrated" Pink Floyd picks. Please, not your own personal entry; we all know those are underrated. :D
These are a few I had picked to place higher (underrateds so to speak).
- freakin_hilarious - This did ok at 17th, but I had it picked for top 5 at least.
- quiet_observation - I really liked this as a photograph, one of my top picks. Not sure about the Pink Floyd tie-in, probably what kept it down at the 86th spot in the results.
- sersal - This came in 44th, thought it was presented well and had it picked as one of my top 10.
- rjkstesch - I felt a cold breeze when this image hit my screen. IMO it was underrated coming in 51st. JMO of course. :D
This was an interesting challenge to vote on. Some pretty creative folks out there! |

Yeah, I had this one pegged for blue:
9th is excellent...but when I first saw it...I instantly thought, "yup, that's it"...

This was one of my top picks, too. I am guessing people didn't like the post-processing, but I thought it made the shot.

This challenge was one of those were creativity overweights technique. So, it was difficult to know what one should vote: a photo of money/dogs or the interpretation of money/dogs in PF´s mind. I think many people couldn´t pass through a photo the message PF wanted to convey (not that I can!). But, some of them did it quite well, and PF would be proud of their photos. They really would.
Now, as for the underrated, here´re my picks, if you care:
tase´s obscured by clouds. a perfect reconstruction of a PF album cover. A beautiful abstract and a lovely play of light points.
sumskater41´s money. The guy new what he was doing, he just didn´t explain it very well with the title. Or, the rest of the voters were too cold hearted to get it. I still think the title should have been the entire line of the lyric.
jjbeguin´s goodbye blue sky. Any of the guys at the bottom/top of the photo can be the depressed Pink. A very moody and well constructed photo.
Many people just took a line or only a word from PF´s lyrics and made a photo of that thing, without trying to continue in the photo-medium the stories that PF sang in the audio-medium. Some of the people were very successful at it, like ursula with "Wearing the inside out".
There were other good photos, underrated, but I considered here those at the bottom half. Good work people, Pink Floyd would have really been proud of you! |

Hey thanks, gjumi. That was actually my first post and I figured that the description would be shown with the picture... It did get last place, but I probably would have voted the same if I had seen it and "money" was the only apparent showing of what the image had to do w/ Pink Floyd. There were definetly a lot of shots in this challenge that got underrated, but most of them have been shown in this thread that I wanted to point out.

Wow! Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. Since I'm not a Pink Floyd fan, I had to go from the lyrics. |
