What seems to be the problem? I wouldnt be scared to do that with my camera. Heck I'd even do that with your camera, at least when I dropped yours other people might have a chance at a ribbon again! :-)

Haha yea, I don't get what peoples problems are with cameras and water lol, in order to get the great shots you cant care about the camera only the shot. |

Oh, I didn't mention.. the dolphins are in a pool, but the ocean is behind me. His POV is THE POV to have, but you have to pay for it. His shots have a bit of pool edge, a few watchers... then ocean as background. I'd die for that shot, but wouldn't kill my camera for it. :P

Don't go giving her the big head. It would look funny on her tiny body :-)

It seems like you would have gotten the same shot as he did had the subjects been facing you instead. I think he's just a show off. :P |

If he had been using a Canon, would it have been a Water Canon?? |

No guts no glory! My guess is maybe he's a photog who works for the attraction and can just get another camera if that one gets dunked. I take my S3 Fuji salt water fishing and sailing, but it's in the repair shop right now. It shorted out so badly that smoke came out when I took off the lens, but I don't think it was salt water related.
A salt water dolphin tank isn't a very camera friendly environment. I haven't looked at the entries to see if this one is in the "harsh environment" challenge.

Reminds me a bit of a time (long, long, ago) anchored to the deck of the USS Blueback in state three seas, holding a Speed Graphic with a Polaroid back. I was soaked, but that camera stayed dry! |
