I'm looking for a minolta maxxum digital slr, new or used. I want to get a digital SLR, specifically this one because I have two minolta lenses that work for my film camera that would work for it. Since they discontinued it, this has been difficult.
Help? |

if i'm not mistaken, the maxxum lenses will also work on the new sony alpha dslr.

Correct. For that matter any of the Konica Minolta dSLRs will use the Maxxum lenses.

At the moment, your camera choices (in chronological order) are:
Konica-Minolta Maxxum (Dynax outside US) 7D
Konica-Minolta Maxxum (Dynax outside US) 5D
Sony Alpha 100
Any 7D or 5D cameras left in shops would be a clearance/end of line item because Konica-Minolta sold its DSLR technology to Sony earlier this year. You'll probably need to ring around a fair bit and ask if they have any left, they're not cameras that are likely to be advertised much. A friend of mine picked up a 5D from a shop 4-6 months ago, which surprised me a little.
The Sony is readily available in shops now.
You might find some 7D cameras on the second-hand market, but 5Ds would be very rare because anyone who had got one would only have got it recently.

 paddles is correct. Any KM or the new Sony that takes the 'bayonet' style lens, should take yours. You never mentioned a budget or if that's the lens you have. Below are links to Amazon. BHPhoto doesn't have the KM's, but they do have the Sony Alpha.
