Have downloaded a couple to my portfolio if you can go there and take a look. Each one taken 2.8 iso 3200 1/200. No flash Manual mode

This one it appears as though you just missed the focus.


Here you may have missed the focus a little (it appears sharper on the floor just in front) also you have a bit of motion blur from the shutter speed being a bit too slow.


Here the focus is clearly on number 52 and that is the problem. With your aperture at 2.8 you really need to nail the focus. Get setup in a good spot and try to prefocus on where you anticipate the action is going to take place. The big thing in sports in having a good sharp image and capturing the action. To capture the action well you need to anticipate where it is going to take place and plan ahead.

If you want to seriously get into shooting sports I would suggest looking through MattO and Skip's profiles and reading blogs online and sports magazines. Hope this was helpful.
