Examples of Fashion Post Processing

Greeting, fellow DPC'ers

I have a request. For my public speaking class, I plan on presenting a speech concerning the post processing involved in fashion/commercial photography - namely, the techniques photographers use to make their models (often celebrities) "more attractive". I am looking for articles (or other types of information) and visual aids (especially before/after comparisons). I already have the Dove "evolution" film, something on the hoopla about Katie Couric, and some short articles.

Mostly, I need text - things to talk about in my speech. Visual aids are also helpful. Any sort of assistance is greatly appreciated!

You might want to show that Dove video. Can't remember what it's called. Real Beauty or something. You should be able to find it on youtube.

I linked to a Dove video in my original post. Is that the one you're talking about?

Do you want more technical info, such as what tools Photoshop gurus use to do the retouching? Or would you prefer info on the social implications of doing such work?

Hey Dunnewold,
There is quite a bit about Kate Winslet on line and how she got airbrushed without her knowledge before being put on the front cover of a magazine. She hated it and went to town on the mag - I think this is a good example because so few people mind getting that extra help and she was so against it.

Social implications is really what I'm looking for now. I've found lots of before/after's so the audience will be able to see what is actually done to the photos. Speaking of, check these out.

My dad is an airbrush artist and used to do a lot of manual touching-up back in the day. This kind of thing has been around forever (which may be interesting to talk about as well)
