Hey I shouldn't worry about it it seems pretty clear that you were voting on the photo. But it is good for Team Suck to be very clear about its view on voting and/or sharing photos, especially because of the fuss with the WPL.

Better to be safe, really.

My apologies to TS for the rooster (again) in Red challenge. I admit I just love chasing that guy around and seeing if he will stand still long enough for a photo. My goal is to catch him mid-crow, so you will probably have to see him yet again ... sorry in advance!

On another note, I was MUCH impressed with the TS entries in Red and Alternative Med. I gave nearly every photo much higher marks than it ended up garnering overall. And I was really impressed with the creativity (sadly marred by my own predictable photo). I have to specifically mention juliboc, jaysonmc and lesgainous for their OOBness. Great job to all TSers IMO.

I have not been around much lately. Company taxes are due tomorrow, personal taxes next month, and in general just too much to do. My Furniture and Red scored so poorly that I just couldn't make myself work on this weeks challenges, so I have nothing in right now. (Even too busy for Update Withdrawal!) Don't know about the new challenges yet, but I might have something. Hopefully there are enough Hoovers participating to at least keep us in the running.

We are trying ... don't worry ... do what you have to do but we would be thankful of any contribution if you could squeeze it in ... don't take it as a duty though ... ;)

Has anyone else noticed that the grain photos are exceptional? With the exception of a very few, it was hard to give anyone under a 6! The voters seem to be kind as well.

I agree, there are so many nice ones that I felt bad giving so many 7's. I've actually received some good comments on my grain. I might get a 5 this time. Of course I won't look till it's over.

Oboy. I felt like giving them all 4s, which is what a few people must have given mine. A lot of them seemed to me to be good or ok pictures + grain, where the grain didn't actually add much or act as a contributary element. So I'm not voting on that one :) Possibly I'm working too much...

I just can't figure it out. Ok, I can't figure a lot of things out! With all of the fabulous shots in grain, and I mean fabulous, why is it punished so heavily when used any place else other than its specific challenge?

This just doesn't make sense. I would love to use grain more often but I know what the results will be.

I must be a grain lover, LOL. I found some shots that the grain did nothing for, but lots where I thought it added a whole new dimension. Maybe I'm just excited 'cause this is the first time I've purposely used grain.

Now one thing that DOES disappoint me - I did all my graininess in-camera with the exception of adding some USM. A lot of people appear to have added it in post. The ones with obvious added texture turn me off.

Sorry Catherine, I added it in post. It's the one filter they will let you use in basic. I tried using ISO 1600 but it gave me almost no grain so I had to boost it. You're not disappointed in me are you????

Bob, I will never think of you the same way again...LOL! Just kidding. Unless it is one of those with obvious texture added, I probably couldn't even tell the difference. I actually think I know which one is yours; if I am right, I quite like it. And if not, I quite like it anyway.

Do I actually have a noticible style? Other than shitty. Most everything I enter is a little different. Almost. I admit the devil thing was a little overdone.

Bob, you know I think you do have a noticable style. And it is NOT shitty. More after the challenge is over, because I will give away which entry I think is yours otherwise.

I added mine in post, too. I think the shot stands well without the grain, actually. So I'm probably a DNMC. Not to mention I don't think too many people care for the basic shot to begin with. But I do have one comment, and it's a very complimentary one from sevilduvarci, so I'm quite content.

With high ISO and low resolution, I could not get grain. Of course, when I do not want grain I manage to get it. I should have just used my camera phone. I also got one comment-from sevilduvarci.

I suspect the top entries will be done by photoshop wizards that can make it look film grainy instead of digital noisy.

I hope I didn't offend any fellow suckees with my comment about adding grain after taking the photo :-( To clarify, it is the shots where the processing is obviously the cause of the grain that bother me. Most of them I can't tell one way or the other - gotta love PS!

But, I had a cool thing happen today, and am really excited - I got a Wish List for the first time ever with my grain photo!

Edit to add: Right now I've got a PB in grain. I can't imagine it will hold - usually I feel like I jinx myself by posting such things.
