Well, before I run down to the pub for one last beer and then go to bed, I thought I would reflect a litle on what I learned this weekend.

If you happen on a parade, and you have a nice looking camera, it's ok to stand in the middle of the street allowing the parade to pass around (and sometimes over) you. Just tell everyone that you know what you're doing!

200mm lenses are great to have. Dogs are cool. (Right, Cindi?)

St. Augustine has pirates. They wear cool sunglasses. They don't really mind if you take their picture.

Ok, some of them do mind if you take their picture. :)

Bartenders are cool, even on their first night. Especially after they've had a few.

If you find a cool bar, leave your mark! (Bonus points to anyone who wasn't there this afternoon that can find this bar! Hint, the dollar is stapled to the wall on the right when you walk in.)

If you just smile and shoot, many people are flattered that you want to take their picture. Be a bit agressive. (Thanks, Skip. :)

Sometimes, it's ok to lay down on the job. :) (That's Cindi and Wayne, BTW.)

LOL Those are awesome, Eric! We really did have an amazing weekend. TONS of fun shooting with everyone and I feel like I have truly made some friends for life.

Eric, all ways smiling, easy-going and eager to learn more and more.

Wayne, a wicked sense of humor that really keep me laughing, you rock, dude.

Robert, a little obsessive about getting the right shot - we saw him trespass a few times!

Sam, what a wonderful personality, quiet but in the front of the group when a good shot came up.

Skip, insane shooter, in everyone's face and in such a way that they loved it.

Chrissoontobenamed, fun guy, great to meet and I hope we convinced him to joint DPC today!

OtherChris, my bud for a few years now and a wanna-be DPCer. We'll get him soon.

Thanks to EVERYONE who made time to shoot for a few days with others who are as obsessive and fun-loving as ME! :D What a riot!

Eric, LOVE the shots. BTW that last one... we were shooting a really cool ceiling! ;)

Robert, glad you made it home okay, can't wait to see your pics!

Skip, you're still in trouble.

I've finished downloading today, added it to yesterday and now have some MORE sorting to do...... Sooon as I finish SOMEONE's tax return, I'll hopefully start possting! :)

Ok, I'm home, dropped off the rental car and I am now relaxing in my bed transferring my shots from the GTG.

I had such a great time! Everyone at the GTG was great to hand out with. I can't wait for the next GTG and to hit the golf course with those of you who golf.

I am still jacked up from the weekend. It'll be a while before I can get to sleep.

I learned so much from each of you. Especially Skip and Cindi who have taught me to be shameless when it comes to street photography. I also learned that I need a much faster camera.

I'll get my shots posted as soon as I can get them processed.

A great time was certainly had by all.

See the photographers circling their prey:

Afterwards, talking "They tasted just like chicken!"

Waiting for the perfect moment:

"Can I have a volunteer for target practice?"

And one last parting shot:

More to come after I select a "keeper" for this month's free study.

We brought the big guns
Well some of us did, eh, Chris? ;D
But they brought bigger ones!!!

Apparently while I was shooting this Lucy Liu was running for her life behind me. We don't look THAT intimidating, do we?

Some favorites.....

We shot so many exposures, I'll be editing for days and days! Seriously an awesome GTG, St. Augustine was a perfect location.

Can't wait for the Keys GTG! :D

I am so jelous. I wish I would have been able to go. My daughter was sick and I didn't want to leave her with a sitter. Your shots from the weekend are great. Keep them coming. You guys look like you had so much fun.

I would love to do a Keys GTG. I know my way around there pretty well. I grew up in Key West so I know where just about everything is. Keep me posted on that one.

The only thing that could have made this GTG better would have been more people. We relly missed Crystal & Elvis were looking forward to meeting them and several others among the "maybe" list. I sure hope everyone can make the next one, you guys just can't imagine how much fun these things are. Much good food, good drinks, good company and of course good photography.

Join ANY GTG you can drive to, that's my advice. :D

Here are some of my favorites from this past weekend.

Cindi is ready to fire her cannon.

Gotta love the lightsphere.

Eric is ready to fire his cann...er...Nikon.

My preferred thirst quencher for the weekend.

This is what Cindi and I were laying down for.

He's planning his revenge on DPC.

Some of the gang.

Can you believe we were all too busy playing with our cameras and chatting with each other to even notice she was there? Sheesh! The waiter is the one who told us she ran like mad when we walked in. lol

Oh, and yeah, good advice about the fisheye lens. What was I thinking?

Great shots everybody. I'll be posting some more soon.

I think that I'm gonna have to get one of those fisheyes. Looks like a lot of fun.

Finally, here are some more shots from my trip up to St. Augustine.

I left several days earlier to take a relaxing drive along the side roads of Florida and stopped at a friends house in Okechobee for the night. She took me out onto the Kissimmee River on her boat and got me fairly close to this osprey carrying a bass.

She had to leave early the next day to pick up a monkey in Ft. Lauderdale and asked me to take some pictures of her animals for her. So there I was, by myself on her 5 acre property, just minding my own business taking some shots of the animals when I was suddenly attacked from behind by this guy...

He silently snuck up behind me, grabbed me around my midsection and dug his forearm claws into my sides. I screamed and let loose with a back kick that I have no idea how it missed him. I ran forward a couple of steps and turned around to see him calmly hopping away.

Having survived the attack, I continued my trip and stopped by to see greatandsmall in Sebastian. She and her husband took the day off of work to take me out in their boat onto the Sebastian River where we saw an unusual sight.

An osprey and a cormorant sitting near each other in the same tree. Granted, osprey don't prey on cormorants, but I've never seen them hang out so close to each other before.

After the boat trip dodging rain showers Roxanne BBQ'd a delicious dinner and had a couple of other friends over. She set me up across the street in a friend's cottage on the intracoastal waterway and I returned the next morning for breakfast. It was great to meet Roxanne and her husband and I hope that she will be able to attend the next Florida GTG.

Here is one more shot from St. Augustine of Skip shooting.......something???
