Under Adjustment Layer there is a menu item called Photo Filter. Is the use of this allowed in Basic editing or is it considered and effects filter?

To my knowledge, it's allowed. It's just a color adjustment.

Should be legal. I haven't used that filter in ages but it's not any different than Hue/Saturation set to colorize which is legal.

Thank you both. I started using it on my grain shot but started doubting myself. I thought it should be legal. I kept reading the rules over and over but I just wanted to make sure. Thank you both.

I have used it in Basic, and have been verified and allowed if I remember correctly. Well I have never been DQed either so that should say something about the use.

It's legal. I use it all the time.
