I am having difficulty with my printer at the moment.
When printing a picture on photo paper (i use a couple of different brands of paper and it is the same with all) the picture starts to print fine then about half way through the shadows print out in red instead of black.
after it starts doing this I have to leave it for a few hours to settle down, but it will then do the same thing 1/2 a good picture 1/2 a bad one.
I have deep cleaned, realigned the print head, checked the nozzels and cleaned the bottom plate this has not helped.
here is a copy of one of the prints so you can see what I am talking about.
Any help will be great.
Thanks
Ben

Nevermind.. reread your post.
EDIT: When I had a problem with my S900 a few years back I gave Canon a call and they were quite efficient and helpful. It would probably behoove you to give them a call or email support as this problem seems very much out of the ordinary.

this may sound silly but how old is the ink maybe the black cartridge is bad try a new one and run the cleaning after you install the new cart. |

rbecker,i have changed the ink for a brand new cartridge (about 8 days old) and printed 3 a4 sheets of solid black to clear the print head of any old ink but it is just printing a nice sheet of pillar box red.
