That's a wonderful idea, I find those threads very inspiring.
Thanks for starting it, I hope many others will add to it, too. |

I've been having fun editing some my old stuff since I've learned so much lately.
One taken back in 2004...
and edited last night

Mobster i remember seeing the car edit. I think they discussed the vignette being too heavy, and you said you realized that after you already closed the edit. |

I have this posted in the 30 day portrait thread. But I do love these types of threads. Seeing before and afters can be so inspiring. I have learned to think and look beyond the initial image that comes on my screen off the card. |

I'd already 'enhanced' the first one but I didn't like the background. How'd I do? |

I use post-processing to both enhance and "change" photos, depending on the desired result and starting material.
I usually use the same limited set of basic tools: Curves, USM, crop, etc. (sometimes with selections/masks, if allowed) no matter how extreme the modification. I think all of the following were edited with only those tools, except the Jar-Jar picture, for which I used the Find Edges filter in a non-opaque layer to help give it a more cartoony look.

What resolution did you end up with? Cropping that much probably doesn't keep your image printable and a decent size. |

I printed an 8X10 of it that came out excellent. Could do more maybe if I tweak the resolution. With a different lens or a lower res camera, probably less. |
