I'm buying a new flash for my camera (Lumix DMC-FZ50) and I've narrowed it down to two. Vivitar 285HV Or Sunpak 383. I'm having a real hard time deciding between the two. The Sunpak has a swivel head and the Vivitar doesn't, but the Vivitar has a zoom head and the Sunpak doesn't. The volts for both are low enough for my camera. Your thoughts? |

I would personally value a swivel head over a zoom head, and would choose the Sunpak. |

Hi Ray! Definitely go with the swivel head. The bounce flash for my Sony didn't swivel, and it aggravated me to no end until I got the Lightsphere (after the Lightsphere, my frustration level moved down to annoyance).

Thanks to you both. :) Laurie, I was looking at the lightsphere on B + H, which they say will fit on the Sunpak. Is it a good deal? Thanks for your help. |

My Lightsphere was a gift from a DPC pal. It's worth the world to me, so whatever is cheaper than that is a great deal. :)

Thanks Laurie. I think I'll go with the Sunpak and the lightsphere. Now maybe I can start learning how to take good portraits! :) |
