Ok, I admit it... after watching too much Catherine Tate on YouTube, it was me and another [name changed to protect the innocent SC member] who thought we'd have a bit of fun with another SC member on a DQ message.

Given all the discussion recently regarding galleries and image assignments, let's have a bit of fun together. We've all had entries where we later looked back at them and said to ourselves, "Now, what in the heck was I THINKING!!!?!!!" I know I've got more than a few challenge entries that *I* regret. :)

This thread is all about "taking your shame." If we had a gallery called Take Your Shame - what would you put in it? I'll go first:

It was a moment of WPL3 desperation...our team needed another entry that week so we didn't take a 0 for the team average...at 10 pm my poor tired head started brainstorming and to my immense personal shame, this was the best I could do in the "Reflections Without Mirrors" challenge.

Ahh, the glory in a 4.7668 score.

So, where's YOUR shame?

I've got too many to choose from. And two are being voted on to add to my collection. So take a peak and take your pick. LOADS to choose from, lol!

I couldn't wait for this challenge to end! Shame, Shame!

What was I thinking?

This was horrible. I entered just for the sake of entering even though I knew that I didn't have anything worthy.

Talk about shoe-horning :P

This was one of my first entries, and I was trying to be clever. Looking back now, I hate it, for more reasons than I can list...

I have quite a few that scored lower, but all of those were effortless, last minute entries with no thought put into them. This one however, seemed brilliant when I came up with it, but it became clear as I was shooting and trying different things that it was a catastrophe. ...and yet, I entered it. *hangs head*

44 comments could be summed up into one.

"Too much neat image!"

I took shame then and I take it now.

LOL

Yeah, but with a 5.2 from Those Were The Days Era, I think you can do better than that for a Take Your Shame gallery.

I nominate instead. :)

this was from like 2004 when i thought 2MP were good and i had never heard of a DSLR soon in the upcomming night shot challenge...you will see a better pic taken with the same camera but i adjusted it and used things i learned from here, DPC...it wont win a ribbon but its alot clearer and i learned how to remove noise properly...

That, also, was pretty bad :P
However not really a "What Was I Thinking" one because at the time and for a while afterwards I thought it was really cool! lol

Visions of ribbons turned into a personal-worst score. I'd rather not talk about it. :-/

I thought it was creative.

I still see the face clear as day --- apparently I'm the only one.

Obviously I liked the idea...not that anything more recent has been better, but I look at that now and say to myself 'primitive.'

There are many - MANY - others, but this one I struggled with the most.

I'm sorry, but this has forced me to look at my challenge entries and I am laughing just a bit too hard (glad I am out in the studio). So anyway, the first weekend I started here I entered two challenges (member and open) shot the open first, couldn't stand it, joined that weekend, shot the Sunday member challenge, submitted. Monday morning I woke up to reality and really have tried to improve - mostly through this site.

first member, second shot...and

first registered user, first shot

There are worse scoring ones, but I look at these now also and scratch my head and wonder just what the heck I was thinking.

ETA: the wallpaper is now gone and the kitchen redo is gorgeous.

LOL! I liked that one a lot - gave it an 8 - I guess that says something. :(

And now since seeing it again, I had to add it to my favs. :)

Well, this thread is about a week early. My Night Shot IV entry doesn't roll over until tonight. :)

Still, it can't possibly be as bad as this one.

I pulled a much better shot from this challenge because I thought it was too subtle about 10 minutes before rollover and started regretting it about 1 minute after rollover. Ain't that always the case? :)

I thought people would get a laugh but it seemed not...

So many I do not know where to begin. I thought I was being clever with this disaster.

My contribution to the pre-pp skills artsy vision gone bad club.

Ughh!

My very first entry after joining the site (the shame). I sure hope I have improved over the last year.

My wife and I spend the evening on the beach the night the challenge was due, and I had nothing to submit. We also were drinking a fair bit of beer and after more then I should have had this kite looked really good. We got home with minutes to spare and I rushed to get the image submitted. The next morning I looked at the image and not surprisingly did not look even close to as good as I remembered.

I and the friends I talked it over with (and showed it to) all thought it was funny!

Maybe I need a higher class of friends. :(
