Some of the geese at a pond I often visit.
The gray guy is around ten years old. :)

edit: Bummer...I lost a favorite. Maybe I shouldn't have posted them here. ;)

Rufous hummingbird, female.

(Thanks, lunachicken! That's the first time anyone has helped me on this website. Much appreciated.)

These are excellent! My hummers aren't back yet in Ohio...I'm starting to worry.

Here are three I shot this week, the pheasant was a couple weeks ago.

Marjo - your hummers should be in anytime.

Richard - I think your female Rufous is an immature male (red spot on throat and bright rufous color are the keys).

There are so many wonderful shots on this thread. Looking forward to seeing more. Van

Thanks!
Great wild turkey shot. I have never seen one in the wild and
they are on my list to attempt to capture.
I've heard they're very sensitive to any noise at all.
I think I may have waited too long, though. The tip I
got was for late March.

Beautiful color and detail on the pheasant. I've only seen them in the wild once. Caught a nice in flight shot...which you were nice enough to comment on. :) I'll still post it here though.

Photographed a hummer in TN last week while visiting. They haven't migrated up to MI in sufficient numbers to stop at my feeders yet.

Here is a nice link to a migration map.

I'm going to visit the osprey again in a few weeks. Okay, so I'm visiting my Dad and the osprey live right by his house, but.... :)

Flocks of these birds have been zooming around in the woods behind my yard for a while. I finally managed to grab my camera and get a shot for once before they all disappeared again!

Here are a few pics of a couple of Roadrunners that were doing some sort of spring ritual in my front yard last week. I only had time to put on my old 75-300IS and sneak out to grab a few shots.

This is the best bird photo I have ever taken.
Then again, the bird wasn't all well..
It's a sparrow of some sort, that's all I know.
