Hello all, the suggestion was made in this thread. that it would be cool to get some new mentorship threads going, as the old ones are a bit crusty, and have missing images throughout most of them.
I would like to see this happen, and see as many people sign up to teach as is possible.

Love the ideas, but I would be a student, not a teacher. :P |

Ok, put me down.
...no, that's not what I meant. I mean I'll do one. Photoshop (not the verb) would be good for me to teach, I suppose. |

Ok, but I have zero tolerance on tardiness and gum chewing.
...AND all students have to wear plaid skirts. :P |

I still would like to see a basic Teacher/Student mentorship deal going on. Basically a pool of Mentors, a pool of students and they just get matched up. Not quite sure how one would decide what qualifies as a mentor (number of ribbons? average score? overall quality of images?) but it would be great to see a mentor take a lower than average scoring student and guide them towards achieving higher scores.
I dont think I qualify as mentor material, but I would be more than willing to help someone who asked me for advice. |

I'll happily and actively contribute to any PS Elements thread...but not quite up to being the only "mentor".
I think it's great that you're trying to revitalize these! |

Thanks for the willingness Hanneke, I know I couldn't necessarily do this as a teacher either, for one I'm not very good at teaching (IMO), and I can't commit time in the evenings when most people would probably be on. |

I'm glad someone brought this up. I was a mentor, landscapes. but I gave control to bear_music after a while b/c I had just started school.
well, now I'm almost done with school, my last quarter doing the whole portfolio process so I can get my degree. an assiocates of applied science in portrait photography! I have just started my own stuido here in town and I'm back in full force here at dpc.
I would love to be a mentor again, it was a very rewarding experence. I was thinking, if everyone agrees. I would love to mentor some sort portrait based group. I'm well versed in studio lighting as well as outdoor/natural lighting. I'm decent in photoshop, but my better half is so much more talented with it, I'm sure she wouldn't mind jumping in every now and then. After spending some time away from dpc I really missed it, and now I'm back in full force, and starting to enter challenges again. no huge scores yet but I am adapting to the basic editing rules still, I'm expecting great things to come.
