Hey all, I just got a new LCD screen to add to the one I already have, and I must say, its very nice to have two screens. However, one problem is that I'm not sure how to calibrate each monitor seperately... Or should I have one calibrated monitor (the main one), and leave the other one as whatever?

PS. How do you guys use your dual monitors for photoshop? Photo on one screen toolbars on the other?

I use Colorvision Spyder 2 pro - it will calibrate each monitor individually.

But do both screens have the exact same whites and blacks?

I have two monitors made by Benq at home (I have a Dell 24 inch at work). The monitors look the same but are slightly different monitors - one is an FP71E+ and the other an FP71V. When I got the second monitor, the monitor I had was superceded. Now, they look the same, but the difference in what they do with colour and contrast and shadows is ever so slight and I often find myself dragging pictures from one monitor to the other just to check the differnces.

I used a Spyder to calibrate, and to the naked eye they look the same, but I can see some details in the darks on one that I can't see in the other, and no amount of fine tuing can correct that.

So, at the moment it is something I just live with...till I get another 24inch Dell at home!

if your running a PC with XP you'll need the dual monitor fix from M$ website..

i have PS running on 1 screen with all but the major pallets on the 2nd, ID / DW / etc on the 2nd screen with all but the major pallets on the 1st and FF/IE/etc on the 3rd screen to check website development etc..
