I have been using Elements V. 4.0 for a year without any problems, but I am now unable to open Organizer. Initially it seemed to be freezing at a photo I uploaded a few days ago, so I deleted that photo, and those either side of it, from the hard drive. Now, as soon as I open up Organizer, I get the following:
Error Code: C0000005
address: 1f8d1d4
Adobe PhotoShop Elements has encountered a problem and needs to close.
AppName: photoshopelementsorganizer.exe AppVer 4..0.0 ModName:aoc.dll modver: 0.0.0.0 offset 0000d1d4
The following files will be included in this error report: C:\DOCUME~1\Sara\LOCALS~1\Temp\995f_appcompat.txt
I am a computer ignoramus, and have no idea what any of this means - what should I do?..! |

Sara,
I still use PS Elements 3. recently had similar problem,
that eventually led to being unable to open the Organizer. After some searching ,I found a site that suggested to find "My Catalog-undo" file click. It will reset the Organizer. You will LOOSE all TAGS. From what I remember it should work in Elements 3, 4, 5.
i do not recall what site or page i got the info. sorry.
hope it helps!

cpanaioti and efren, many thanks for your suggestions - with the help o my daughter and google it is now fixed - involved deleting a tn.X.cache file in the My Catalog folder, which has done the trick, but without losing the tags, which I am glad about! So you both set me on the right track - thank you once again. |

I did what efren said, click the ''My Catalog-undo.psa file'' & now Adobe PhotoShop 4.0 opens without the error message. I am not using a Canon, but this worked anyway. wxp sp2 w/media center
