NEW I have noticed in our division that our team go MAD SHUTTERS is in 5th place but has a higher average than the second place team. I believe that this will work itself out more in the final standings but is kind of decieving. I would like to see the season extended so that each team plays each other team two times so that things will even themselves out. This will have another effect. One of our team members was unable to enter into a couple of challenges due to an extended vacation. Now I know that it was a vacation which is a choice that this team member made, but what if it was an illness in the family... If the season were longer, it would help to even things out in these eventualities.

Thank you for pointing that out. I know that there are a lot of threads that have been started. I'm simply trying to consolidate all the ideas into one thread to make it easy for the powers that be!

Suggestion:

NEW (I think). Put a link to a player's DPL affiliate on their profile. Even better, put it in the author field of each forum post (name, camera, DPL team if any). People keep talking about their DPL team, but I have no idea which one it is!

NEW Suggested change:

The playoffs took forever...about as long as the regular season itself.

Regular Season Rounds: May. 14th, 2007 - Jun. 26th, 2007 = 6 weeks
Playoffs: Jul. 2nd, 2007 - Aug. 5th, 2007 = 5 weeks + week off inbetween = 6 weeks.

I suggest a shorter playoffs period.

New It would be interesting to actually split people up in terms of ability, before forming the teams. Then each team has to be made up by choosing one person from each layer, So you get 1 very high scoring, 1 high scoring, 1 medium scoring etc etc

I guess it would have to be done by peoples average score over say their last 'x' number of challenge entries.

This gives a more level playing field in that no team is made up completely of experts, nor is another team made up completely of beginners.

I've seen this sort of approach work very well in sports contests to really mix people together and encourage them to work together across the different 'layers' that can all too easily build up.

Just a thought : )

edit for spelling

I would go along with something like that.
