Here are some pics I took just after X-Mas at the Houston Zoo.
Canon D60 with Tokina 80-400mm lens
Houston Zoo
I was pretty thrilled on this trip as the Wolves were out and active this morning. It was the first time I have ever seen them, since they usually hide out. But I hate that fence that keeps them in (or people out) as it makes it hard to get a decent photo.

Great pictures! I wish my zoo pics jumped out like that. I especially liked number 17 (I think)--the bird with the long beak. Thanks for sharing. |

Nice pics James! I love Zoo pics. I recently was in Barcelona Zoo taking so many.... before Snowflake (the white gorilla) die. If anybody is interested to see it in last days, my Zoo gallery is here:
Bitmaniac
Go to Gallery, Zoo and then browse the 29 pages... or best, go directly to first one where Snowflake appears. A difficult subject! No front view possible, only 5 minutes standing in front of it.... Well... some other pics were better, like snake macros:
Snowflake 1st page of pics (they are two)
Snakes macros, take a look to the last one! 12mm from lens!
