As mentioned in this thread, I'm throwing out the idea of a GTG in the Charleston, SC area.

Anyone interested? I'll be available throughout the August/September weekends, and with the sheer number of historical sites in this area, it seems like we could have a really good time. (Just walking around the downtown area taking candids occupies my simple little mind for hours on end. . .)

nards656 will keep an eye on this. I am definitely interested; I just don't know if our schedule and budget will allow it. :)

I figured this idea was dead after I came back from a week in Kentucky with no response. :)

If anyone else is interested, let's hear from ya! We can start figuring out dates and stuff!

Yeah, I'd like to get together over there. Of course, the dates will play a pretty big part. If it were sometime after the Florida Keys GTG (OCT 2-9), my chances of getting up there would be a lot greater. I have a close friend that lives on his boat there. If the crowd doesn't get huge, I may be able to persuade him to take us out for some shooting. I cannot promise that for sure, but I sure can ask if there was any interest. I'll watch this thread for possible dates.

Well, anyone else?

I'm guessing this idea died?

Well, it looks like the crowd won't be very big. :) It seems there wasn't a lot of interest in this one, so the idea did die.

But, since I won't be able to make the Keys GTG after all, I'll throw this one out there one more time. :)

Dependant on the date, I'm certainly interested.
I went downtown the other day and just wandered from the battery up to the market (via some back streets), there's so much architecture and old stuff to take pictures of.

Hey Catherine, you have to come to our Michigan GTG later this month.

I think someone should just post, say, three dates and lets vote on what one would be best?
I would help out here, but I'm not that reliable or able to commit too convincingly!!!!

Well, I was thinking the weekend of October 6/7 or October 20/21. I think that gives plenty of time to arrange things, or is that too soon?

The bottom line is that I live here, and can probably be the most flexible with the scheduling. Any other thoughts on dates?

why don't we say any weekend in October and then eliminate them as people come up with excuses?

I can't make 13th/14th

not the best images, but it's what I got from downtown last week.

I like this one best. Looks like you had a great time walking about, Steven!

A few of mine, just so I don't feel left out. :)

And then some new ones that I have just uploaded:

Seriously, people! How can you not want to join us for a weekend of fun, friends, and really great photography in one of the most historic and beautiful cities in the country?!?!

(Besides, it'll be October and we make all the bugs go further south for the season!) :)

Join us for this one! It'll be a blast!

As far as I know, October is pretty open for me. :)

No conflicts for weekends that I know of (YET).

Well, it looks like we're down to the weekend of Oct 6&7 or the weekend of Oct 20&21.

The Oct 20&21 dates would give more time for planning purposes, so I suggest those. Any thoughts?

The weekend of October 20-21 is unfortunately the one weekend that wouldn't work for me. We're invovled in the Charleston Garden Expo at Middleton Place that weekend as exhibitors so I'll need to be there at least one of the days. Any other weekend is open, though.

OCT 6 & 7 I will be at the Florida Keys GTG. Looking at airfare with AirTran, it looks like that first weekend in November would be better for us. That would be November 2, 3, and 4. Any objections for that weekend?

That weekend sounds good to me. Anyone else have plans for that weekend yet?

Here I was thinking damn I could make that. But November 2, and 3rd I have to work.
