MMM, it may be that your photo needs to be in 8bit?

Try, Image/Mode/8bit if you haven't already and see if it lets you save then.

What version of photoshop are you using?

Did you use layers? If so did you merge all the layers into one?

Do you have a full version of the software? I would recommend saving the image as is, close photoshot, restart and then try to use the save for web function (under File -> Save for Web)

If the save for web button still does not work, your other option is to adjust the image size under "Image" -->"Image Size". You can select a resize factor that fits the 640 pixel along the longest axis.

What format is the picture in? I think the merging of layers is a likely culpret; I've forgotten about that a couple times myself.

My photo before saving is in .psd format. I foud a way by saving with "Save as..." chosing .jpg format, and 8 on quality. Hope it's gonna be ok for challenge. Tks everyone for tips. I still have the problem with the "Save for Web" button....:)

BeeCee - I haven't had any problem saving for web from a PSD with multiple layers. It has never been an issue with Element 3 or with PS7.

Ah yes, I guess it's been when I've gone to do a regular save and wondered why it wasn't JPEG, then remembered the layers.

I think you have to be in an RGB mode to save for web. I don't think the button is enabled in lab color or cmyk color. Lemme check.

R.

Nope. Only mode it can't save for web in is "multichannel"...

Elements does not like saving for web with large files. Just check you have resized it to 640 pixels please.
