Hi there, I was wondering.
I'm working in Photoshop CS3 and there the images look good, sharp and nicely saturated, but when I have saved the in .psd or high quality .jpg and open them in another program like Bridge it looks different, not as sharp, not as saturated, or when I put them on the web, same thing, they sometimes look a bit overexposed even though they looked good in Photoshop. What am I doing wrong? |

What colourspace are you editing in?

I'm no expert at this, I went to Color Settings and it says
Settings: North America General Purpose 2
RGB: sRGB IEC61966-2.1
CMYK: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2
Gray: Dot Gain 20%
Spot: Dot Gain 20% |

Usually, it means your image is in the wrong colorspace. |

That will tell you your general working colourspace, but not the colour space of the actual particular image you are trying to export.
Before you do the export etc, have a look in Convert To Colourspace (Think it is under the edit or Image menu)
That'll show you which colourspace you are editing in - you want to convert to sRGB prior to saving for the web, to stop the general fading that you are seeing. |

Doesn't the Save for Web function convert images to sRGB automatically?
If your images look different in Bridge than in Photoshop, it might be a good idea to set up Bridge properly. Open PS, hit CTRL+Shift+K, decide for the settings you prefer and save those settings with a name of your choice. Open Bridge, hit CTRL+Shift+K and select the setting you just saved. |

No, it doesn't.
