Okay, I took this shot at the same time as the Point of View and National Geographic challenge and was debating to use it, actually had it entered in the NG challenge but changed at the last minute because the one I did enter just really appealed to me at the moment.
So looking at this one:
compared to these ones:
POV:
and
NG
Would it have scored better?
For the POV it would have been titled:
A Doorknobs Point of View
and for NG it would have been titled:
Holding all their secrets
Deannda
Thanks

I like the horse picture, but I am into animals and wildlife so it may be a little unfair for me to judge.

Quite honestly, I think the alternate picture of the lockers would have scored higher in either challenge. I like it a lot.

I would've voted the alternate pic higher in the point of view (quite a bit higher at that). Not sure about the NG - it seems a little off theme-wise and don't know where that would fall.
Some reasons - The handrail, in your POV entry, is not really in focus (the sidewalk seems to be) or where my attention is drawn, and the snow is blown out a bit. But the alternate pic captures my attention right where I think you want it...and even though the doors at the end of the hall way are blown out, I think it adds rather than detracts from the shot....my eyes follow the lockers that seem to lead to the sunspot/doors, and with the overall white theme the sunspot seems to fit in and is not distracting to me. I also like the grain and reflections. Nice shot IMO. |
