I would love to get some feedback on a picture that I have been working on tonight. Any comments would be greatly appreciated! The photo was taken at a State Park that I live accross the street from. I wanted to play around with Photoshop and try out a few tools.
Im new here at DPC and would love to begin to become a better photographer through this site!
Here is the Picture...

I would see about smoothing out the noise in the sky. Perhaps selectively sharpen the trees on the far shore. If you found the same light again I would try a composition where the dock leads out to the upper right sweet spot instead of more or less out of the frame. |

No.1 for me would be adjusting the Brightness/ Colouring, I just pasted it in Adobe Photoshop Elements and did an Auto Levels and got an emidiatley more vivid picture.
good luck

any of these tutorials and especially the rule of thirds might be helpful for you.
It is an interesting shot, but, on top of what the others have said, I would watch where the horizon lands in the composition. Bottom or Top third would be better than smack in the middle.
Welcome to DPC! Look forward to seeing more!

I didnt see the noise in the sky at home but now that I am at work, I can see it...How would you suggest me getting rid of that? Im going to try the auto level when I get a chance and try it out. Thanks for the comments! |
