Ok, I'm pulling my hair out trying to create a simple freaking boarder in 'Elements' '5'.0. No matter what I do, I keep getting a gradient 'border' even though I select "solid" and not "gradient" as my 'border' style. Note the picture below:
How do I get a SOLID white 'border' and not this gradient style I've been getting for months? Here is my workflow to create the above 'border':
Select Menu\All
Select Menu\Modify\'border'
Choose pixel size of 15 on a 720 pixel image
Layer Menu\New Fill Layer\Solid Color (normal mode, 100% opacity)
Click ok and select white color
BAM - gradient 'border'! Why??? Can anyone help?

layer/duplicate layer
edit/stroke
fill in the blanks with pixels color etc.
on a 640x?? '5'-10 pixels usually works

NstiG8tr, thank you SOOOO much. I never think to ask except when I'm facing a deadline but this time I asked ahead of time and you pulled through. Thank you, thank you, thank you! |

You can also get a 'border' as follows:
Image/Resize/Canvas Size...
Just add the measurements sizes required or using the arrows pad select boarder for only the top and bottom or just bottom or whatever. Can choose color at the bottom.
You can add another after you add one eg a thin black boarder and then a thicker white one or whatever.

I find this the easiest way to do it. Thats how I do it! Works well, and it's way easy.
