As long as the subject is predominately black, the background colour shouldn't matter, in terms of meeting the "challenge". I think a contrasting background is a good thing in a lot of instances, this challenge included. Also I believe that the subject doesn't necessarily have to be shot in the "low-key" style to meet the challenge. Just my thoughts on the issue.

I looked through some of the challenge history and viewed some of the other challenges with the topic being Color ,,,,,Red,, Blue,, just to name a few and WOW! Fun challenge to shoot, although my subject I chose was the hardest I have done yet, and I took the time in photoshop elements to jazz it up I just hope my score will reflect as hard I as I tried!!
