with all of the new d300 and d3 cameras, how much does it cost for a d80 body or a d200 body? i am looking for these, and so far ebay has been the cheapest i could find (around 650-800 for the d80 body). would that be the best place to buy it from? |

Depends on the seller. I do a LOT of ebay transactions, but you still must be careful. Call ahead if it's a dealer to make sure you are getting a USA warranteed product and not a gray-market camera.
Some products are sold cheaper without a USA warranty because they are "intercepted" basically legally, but made for sale in other countries, or are lacking some basic items from the box. |

If you go thru eBay, I highly recommend any one of the auctions by Cameta.
New D80 body (USA), $799
They also have "factory demo" models with 1-yr warranty... there is a D80 body at $46 with 2+ days to go, but it will probably get to around $450-500. If you're browsing through their auctions, just be careful that you read the first part of the description where it says either "NEW" or "Factory Demo" (whatever that means).
Great prices and great service, though. If you don't want to do it as an eBay auction, just call them and arrange the package sale directly using the price of the auction -- that's what I did. |
